How it works

Shader type
canvas_item
Parameters
scale (float = 8), speed (float = 1), palette_offset (vec4 = 0.5, 0.5, 0.5, 1), palette_amplitude (vec4 = 0.5, 0.5, 0.5, 1), palette_frequency (vec4 = 1, 1, 1, 1), palette_phase (vec4 = 0, 0.33, 0.67, 1), cycle_speed (float = 0.15), color_steps (int = 0)
Use it on
A ColorRect (or any CanvasItem) sized to the area to fill; UVs span 0 to 1 across it.
Result
Smoothly flowing rainbow bands that swirl around a wandering centre.
Renderers
compatibility: compiled and rendered, forward plus: not verified, mobile: not verified

Limits to consider

Pure function of position and time: no texture detail. Palette parameters outside 0..1 can clip.
